Sullivans / Station 18
The design of this house was inspired by the historic rice plantations found sixty miles north in Georgetown. The interior paneling, wainscoting, and exposed beams were salvaged from an 1880’s farmhouse outside Pontiac, SC. The historic heart pine flooring was sourced from Georgia, the living room was paneled in old-growth “sinker” cypress from Wadmalaw Island, and our tile came from San Fran and Morocco. I had most of the custom furniture built in Texas but found the vintage porcelain sink in Maine. The walnut pencil post master bed, dining room chandelier, and exterior doors were designed by KDS. And yes, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
